Job Description/Requirements
- Contribute significantly towards the development and implementation of corporate financial strategy.
- Coordinate and consolidate the preparation of budget for the business.
- Always ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory standards.
- Prepare required monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS mandates and other statutory and regulatory standards.
- Regularly analyze the financial position of the business and put in place appropriate interventions to ensure profitability and long-term sustainability of the business.
- Produce quarterly forecasts and comparisons against actuals and plans.
- Ensure accurate preparation and maintenance of up-to-date financial records and all books of accounts in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Oversee compliance with all statutory and tax obligations, including timely filing and payment of taxes and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage the organization’s cash flow, banking, and investment activities to ensure financial stability and optimal returns.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the finance and administrative staff to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
- Oversee administrative functions to support smooth organizational operations.
- Implement effective internal controls and ensure adherence to financial and administrative procedures.
- Liaise with CEO to ensure that funds are invested in the appropriate manner to generate projected returns in line with the business’s investment policy and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the company’s assets in line with best practice.
- Adopt effective cost management strategies that support achievement of business objectives
- Have oversight responsibility for all bank transactions undertaken by the business.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant (e.g., ACCA, ICA) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or Head of Finance role.
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Demonstrated experience in administrative management, including procurement oversight, logistics coordination, and resource planning.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and tax requirements within Ghana’s financial and business environment.
- Familiarity with the insurance or healthcare industry will be a strong advantage.
- Advanced computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel, accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, Sage, or ERP systems), and data analysis tools.
