Job Summary

In close collaboration with the project team, the Field Officers (FO) will work in close coordination with the project officers and the M&E officer in project planning and implementation. The general functions of the FO will entail project planning, monitoring, data collection, evaluation, stakeholder mobilization and coordination, training and dissemination of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials in the East and West Mamprusi districts in Ghana and other places as delegated by the Project Officer.

Job Description/Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide insight and information during project planning and implementation.
  • Mobilization of relevant stakeholders for various meetings, training workshops and other project activities in close collaboration with the Project Officers.
  • Developing rapport with both private and public stakeholders concerned in the project.
  • Coordination and report writing of training workshops and stakeholder meetings in collaboration with Project Officers.
  • Collaborate in monthly project reports according to the requirements of the different donors.
  • Administering various data collection tools and templates for data collection in collaboration with the M&E officer. She/he will also be responsible for collating and reporting stakeholder feedback using the availed tools.
  • Attend relevant interagency County and national level meetings, training and conferences as may be required.
  • Work closely with the Project Officers and M&E officers to disseminate IEC materials and any other information in the district.
  • Together with the project team, the FO shall be responsible to ensure implementation, monitoring, evaluating and learning from the project activities, she/he shall play a key role in the development of success stories from the field.
  • Perform other related duties as required.



Qualification and Requirements

The field officer should have:

  • A diploma or a first degree in project management, governance, community development, environmental management, social work, social science or other related fields.
  • At least 2 years of significant and hands-on experience in community development, project management and environmental governance in the Mamprusi district.
  • Experience in working closely with the District Assemblies, Traditional Authorities, farmers and other stakeholders within the Mamprusi district.
  • Must be a resident of the Mamprusi district or surrounding districts.
  • Ability to understand the local dialects in the Mamprusi district.
  • Excellent presentation as well as oral and written communications skills, problem solving abilities and great interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and nurture effective working relationships with the project’s stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of and active use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Self-driven, has initiative and can work well with minimal supervision as well as part of a diverse team.
