Farm Manager

Responsibilities:

Egg production

• Prepare egg production, feed consumption and chicken mortality reports
• Ensures egg and egg room sanitation procedures are followed
• Accountable for implementing of rodent and vector control programs on the farm
• Manage the repairs/maintenance of the facility including layer house, hatchery, breeding, feeding, waters etc.
• Control and the management of waste
• Management in the administering of vaccines and medicines

Feed production

•  Inspect & monitor the production, quality, weight and packaging of feeds
• Maintain accurate records/reports on daily basis in respect of feed materials, production, packaging, delivery and storage/warehousing
• Ensure the production good quality fees

Hatchery

• Direct hatchery to produce the highest quality chicks per hatch
• Monitor/control the sanitation, heating, vaccination(veterinary standards)
• Educate/interprets company rules to enforce safety regulation
• Farm plantation/Maize production
• Direct the management and operations of the farm (mainly maize)
• Ensure all company rules in the farm are adhered to
• Provide weekly/monthly farm reports
• Ensure agricultural (MFA) standards for farms regarding corn is followed
• Provide standard of operation in the farm to be followed by farm workers.

Competence:

• HND/Degree in Crop and Animal Production
• Diploma/Certificate in poultry management & crop farming
• Skills in MS office & ERP software
• Skills in land management and farm business will be an added advantage
• Minimum 2years working experience in similar position
• Problem solving – Identify and solve issues in a professional manner
• Management & team work
• Safety and security – observe and follow standards and safety measures

Note:

• Must be willing to relocate to site
• Entry level as well as mid level should be considered.
