About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially astute Export Development Manager (Ghana) to support our expansion into the Ghanaian market.
This short-term assignment focuses on assessing the market potential for paper packaging products — including paper cups, boxes, and bags — by identifying key buyers, distributors, competitors, and pricing trends.
The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional with strong analytical and communication skills, capable of conducting independent market research and delivering actionable insights to shape our market entry strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy targeting corporate clients, retail chains, and open-market distributors — aiming for 20% YoY revenue growth.
- Conduct market mapping to identify major buyers (restaurants, cafés, caterers, wholesalers, and distributors).
- Estimate market size, demand trends, and identify product categories with the highest growth potential.
- Analyze existing supply sources (local and imported), including key brands and importers.
- Benchmark pricing for key packaging SKUs such as 12oz/16oz paper cups, burger boxes, and paper bags.
- Gather market intelligence on competitors, customer preferences, and supply chain dynamics.
- Compile findings into a professional 2–3 page market report supported by data, visuals, and references.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; fluency in English required.
- Proficiency in Twi, Ga, or other Ghanaian trade languages is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- High initiative and accountability; delivers results with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ERP or CRM experience is a plus.
- Good understanding of Ghana’s retail, QSR, hospitality, and distribution sectors.
- Proven success in Sales, Business Development, or Export Research roles.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.
Deliverables
- A concise, data-driven Market Research Report (2–3 pages) summarizing findings and insights.
- Documented engagement with key buyers/distributors.
- Price comparison tables, supplier mapping, and buyer profiles.
- Completion and submission of the report within two weeks of project start.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in B2B market research or export feasibility studies (field and desk research).
- Must be resident in Ghana and available for field visits.
