Job Summary

Heading the Operations department in BLUETOWN Ghana, with the overall responsibility of project deployments, network operations, and quality, as well as the introduction of new technologies as planned with HQ. In general close cooperation with HQ Operations and R&D, Global functions in India. Support global activities when needed.

Job Description/Requirements


  • Successful management of Operations organization in Accra and coming Regional offices,
  • Ensure that Project execution of all new Network Deployments and network upgrades is properly planned and executed in accordance with agreed guidelines.
  • Ensuring preparation and execution of Project Board meeting for all Deployment projects
  • Ensure that BLUETOWN owned and/or operated networks meet uptime and user experience targets
  • Technical service and support to customers
  • Close cooperation with the Commercial part of the organization and HQ in Denmark
  • Close cooperation with Global technical functions in India (e.g. Global NOC)
  • Monitoring of emerging technical solutions relevant for Ghana markets that could benefit the BLUETOWN business
  • People management and leadership of all staff in the said department of BLUETOWN Ghana
  • Liaison and establishing strong partnerships with backhaul providers, other relevant partners, and suppliers
  • Budgeting and cash flow management
  • Cost Optimization in all aspects of deployment and Network operations
  • Technical support for Commercial organization in relation to new project proposals, quotations, and tenders (written proposals and customer meetings)
  • Support global activities when needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience with similar leadership positions, preferably from a project-based international organization dealing with telecommunication
  • Bachelor in engineering, telecommunication or similar. MBA an added advantage
  • General technical understanding
  • Strong Project and people management skills
  • PRINCE2, IPMA or PMI certification is an advantage
  • Ability to optimize for cost and efficiency Very good communication skills
  • Negotiation skills and experience from writing/reviewing contractual documents
  • Skilled within IT tools, like Microsoft Projects or similar, Microsoft Excel, incl. formulas, charts, and pivot tables.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) platform is an advantage
  • Strong English skills (verbal and written)

Work Information:

  • Working hours: 40 hours per week, over time without compensation might be required during peak periods
  • Working environments: Office environment and field visits
  • Working Location: Accra,
  • Travel: 30-50 days per year
