A management company with a strong presence across multiple industries, including agribusiness, aviation, financial services, IT, hospitality, construction, and media, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Legal to join its leadership team and provide expert legal guidance across its diverse business units.

The Director of Legal will provide strategic legal leadership and oversight to the business units, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and contractual obligations. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to drive legal excellence and support business growth.


Key Responsibilities:

·      Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, including commercial agreements, joint ventures, and partnerships.

·      Manage and oversee litigation, including dispute resolution, arbitration, and mediation.

·      Provide guidance on laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements affecting the business operations.

·      Develop and implement training programs to educate employees on laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

·      Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks facing all business units, including compliance, regulatory, and reputational risks.

·      Provide strategic legal advice to support business growth, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships.


Qualifications and Experience:

·      Qualified lawyer (called to the Ghana Bar) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role.

·      Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or related field.

·      Experienced in contract law, including drafting, review, and negotiation.

·      Experience in litigation, including dispute resolution, arbitration, and mediation.

·      Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.

·      Strong understanding of risk management principles and practices.

·      Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
