Key Responsibilities

• Ensure Compliance with Health and Safety Standards: Ensure effective compliance with occupational health and safety and environmental management systems, policies, procedures, and legal requirements in all areas of responsibility.
• Management and Development of Electrical Systems: Manage the design, construction, and maintenance of electrical equipment and networks, ensuring optimization and best practice standards are met.
• Personnel and Process Supervision: Supervise processes and personnel to maintain and optimize the use of medium voltage (MV) and high tension (HT) equipment.
• Support and Technical Oversight: Provide technical support to engineering personnel and develop equipment maintenance plans according to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and legal requirements.
• Budget and Maintenance Strategy Implementation: Develop operating and capital budget requirements and implement maintenance management operational systems and strategies for critical infrastructure.
  

Key Skills

• Leadership and Safety Management: Strong leadership skills with a focus on safety, capable of leading under pressure and managing critical tasks.
• Technical Expertise in Electrical Engineering: Sound knowledge of MV/HT reticulation, overhead line construction, and system reliability optimization.
• Contract and Project Management: Experienced in contract administration and project management, with a focus on electrical infrastructure projects.
• Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting abilities, with a capability to address and solve complex technical issues.
• Communication and Relationship Management: Excellent communication skills necessary for maintaining strong relationships with service providers and internal teams, including the ability to negotiate and plan effectively.
  

Qualifications/Certifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and or Equivalent
• Professional Engineer Registration will be an advantage,
• 8+ years’ experience within a Superintendent/Specialist Role
• 8+ years’ construction experience working on Transmission and Substation projects
• Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
