Description

Are you cause-driven? Are you eager to leverage your marketing and community outreach experience to create meaningful change in the lives of people in the Ashanti region? Would you like to work for an organization that combines the best business and social impact practices?

VisionSpring, an international social enterprise, is seeking a Campaign Implementation Lead to drive demand for eyeglasses through a multi-channel, community-focused campaign for its Pharmacy Project in Ghana. This role will be instrumental in increasing awareness, conversion and accessibility of eyeglasses, working directly within local communities, pharmacies, and media channels to raise awareness. The Campaign Implementation Lead will coordinate in-store promotions, community outreach activities, mass media engagements (including jingles and interviews), and outdoor advertising efforts like billboards, to effectively reach target audiences and improve eyeglass accessibility for low-income populations.

This role is contract-based full-time position for the initial period of 1 year and requires a candidate based in Kumasi, with strong local market knowledge and experience in Below The Line (BTL) or community marketing campaigns. Reporting to the Global Senior Manager, Behavior Change, the Campaign Implementation Lead will manage relationships with pharmacy partners and stakeholders, oversee the deployment of campaign assets, and ensure smooth execution of all marketing activities to maximize impact

About You

  • Mission and cause-driven: You are excited by VisionSpring’s mission and the potential to make vision care accessible to underserved communities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: You are an entrepreneur at heart and want to build a socially oriented business. The prospect of becoming an expert in the optics industry excites you.
  • Maximizer and high performer: You apply lean principles to optimize resources. You are accustomed to being a top performer in a high-growth environment. Achieving targets fills you with a sense of drive and satisfaction.
  • Demand generation expertise: You are experienced in setting and meeting ambitious goals in demand generation, with a particular knack for expanding product reach in competitive markets.
  • Communication: You shine in conveying ideas and information in clear, expressive language - written, spoken, and visual. You have empathy and communication skills to inspire others, clearly communicating the value of eyeglasses to partners and customers alike.

About Us

  • VisionSpring increases lifelong earning, learning, safety, and well-being through eyeglasses for people vulnerable to poverty. We believe in the wonder of clear vision for everybody.
  • We sell and deliver radically affordable optical products and services and develop markets for eyeglasses—a 700-year-old technology that has failed to reach 1 billion people in need of vision correction, most of whom live on less than $4 a day.
  • We serve low-income consumers, not as beneficiaries but as customers. Our customers expect quality, affordable products and eyecare services, and will spend limited discretionary income for the immediate and tangible benefits of vision correction.
  • As a social enterprise, we are purpose first. We blend philanthropic and earned revenue, draw on non-profit and business practices, and use sales and efficiency metrics and social impact measures to bring vision correction to ever more people.
  • We catalyze collaborative action in an expansive, multisector partner network and use our evidence and experience to influence systems change and close the global clear vision gap.
  • We believe in scaling our impact, not our organization. We are a lean team of doers.
  • Our big goal: Everyone who needs eyeglasses will have them by 2050

What You’ll DoCampaign Planning And Execution

  • Oversee Point-of-Sale Visibility: Direct and monitor the deployment of point-of-sale visibility materials to ensure high awareness of the availability of VisionSpring eyeglass across pharmacies in the Ashanti region, coordinating closely with the Ghana Pharmacy Project Lead to ensure materials are placed as per plan.
  • Work Plan Development: Collaborate with the external marketing agency to develop a detailed work plan for campaign activities, including timelines, resource allocation, and performance metrics.
  • Mass Media Coordination: Coordinate with the external marketing agency on the execution of mass media components, such as local radio jingles, interviews, and IVR campaigns, liaising with media partners and agencies to reinforce campaign messages effectively.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance metrics, working with marketing agencies to optimize channel effectiveness and recommend adjustments. Maintain comprehensive records of all campaign activities, including community engagement events, media placements, and feedback from pharmacy partners.

Community Engagement and Brand Visibility

  • Outreach Planning and Execution: Plan and execute community outreach activities with the external agency to promote or create awareness about the availability of eyeglasses in pharmacies, establishing strong relationships with local influencers, community leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Grassroots Strategy: Develop a grassroots strategy to reach underserved communities and engage target audiences on the benefits of eyeglasses through informative sessions and activations on the ground, coordinating with the distributor and agencies to ensure message alignment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage directly with pharmacy owners and staff to foster relationships that enhance the impact of campaign materials, driving eyeglasses uptake.
  • Vendor and Agency Coordination: Manage relationships with external vendors, media partners, and creative agencies to ensure timely delivery of campaign materials that meet quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma.
  • 5 to 7 years of professional experience in a marketing agency or similar role, with a strong focus on BTL or community marketing campaigns.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy landscape, trade or customer marketing in the Ashanti region is preferred.
  • Must reside in Kumasi, with knowledge of the local market dynamics and experience working with local stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, and other local languages like Twi and any other Ghanaian language.
  • Experience creating and delivering sales presentations using PowerPoint slide decks.
  • Computer software skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Compensation

  • Salary based on experience and education.

To Apply

  • We want to know more than just what you have done. We want to know who you are. What are the passions and talents that draw you to this role?
  • Please submit your application materials, comprising a thoughtful cover letter, campaign portfolio and CV/résumé, saved as a single document.
  • Please note, only candidates invited to interview will be contacted.
  • At VisionSpring, diversity, equity, and inclusion are directly aligned with our core value to advance equity. Our mission is predicated on removing a fundamental barrier to full economic and social participation—uncorrected blurry vision. The values that underpin our mission energize our commitment to a diverse and inclusive team. A diverse team also allows VisionSpring to approach problems with nuance and develop unique insights that drive an outsized positive impact in the world. We actively recruit, develop, and retain talented people from diverse backgrounds and support everyone in being exactly who they are. VisionSpring is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes people from all experiences, abilities, and perspectives to apply.
