Job Description/Requirements

1820 company limited is a private limited liability company incorporated in 2020 under the laws of Ghana. The company is currently into the haulage of goods across the country with a total fleet size of 18. 


At 1820, we have continuously provided our clients with a better and superior customer experience in the haulage of their goods. We want to extend our superior customer experience in the haulage services to other areas within the supply chain industry such as Driver outsourcing, casual labour outsourcing, warehousing and fleet management. We intend to establish ourselves as a hub for all outsourced supply chain activities.


We are looking forward to recruiting a Business Development Lead with in-depth understanding of the supply chain industry and with a strong ability to identify opportunities and make revenues out of these opportunities. 


From working with relevant colleagues to ensure our business plan is fully operational and on track, through to implementing processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, the selected candidate must be able to work with a diverse range of people, to ensure the delivery of successful and profitable projects in line with our strategy.


Main responsibilities:

  • To drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients.
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Conduct research to identify customer needs and new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients and seek out the appropriate contact in an organization and generate leads whiles understanding the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
  • Support the implementation of business plan and identify road map for business development
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers whiles Identifying and maintaining new contacts and networks relevant for business development and revenue identification
  • to interpret and use internal or external data provided to speak to customer needs and communicate business insights there by becoming the customer’s source of industry knowledge
  • Be willing and committed to take on new work as and when required and to be proactive.
  • Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
  • keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world.


Qualification

  • 3 - 5+ years supply chain industry and Marketing and sales experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (Logistics and supply chain, Marketing and Sales), Engineering, or related field.
  • MBA with emphasis on Supply chain management and Marketing and Sales will be an added advantage.
  • 3+ years working experience in business development, sales, marketing OR equivalent working experience.
  • A valid driving license
