Job Description/Requirements

Business Analyst Responsibilities include:

  • Providing business planning services, including creating strategic plans, forecasting financial performance and modelling, budgeting, pricing and providing advice on management decisions
  • Reviewing financial statements and other data to recommend changes in strategy or operations to improve performance
  • Developing marketing strategies, identifying target markets, and promoting products or services to increase sales
  • Providing advice on human resources issues, such as creating employee handbooks and policies, conducting hiring and exit interviews, and counselling employees on workplace grievances
  • Counselling clients on organizational structure, staff and leadership issues
  • Developing concepts and initiating them into business opportunities
  • Providing advice on business operations including the implementation of new policies or procedures
  • Providing advice on strategic planning for businesses, such as developing and implementing plans to increase market share or improve profitability over time
  • Coordinate and monitor projects and tasks to meet deadlines and report them to clients and shareholders.


The Skills of a Business Advisory Expert:

  • Research Skills: The individual should have good research and presentation skills.
  • Communication Skills: He or She needs to be able to communicate clearly and concisely with other professionals such clients and organisations and on their behalf thereof.
  • Writing Skills: This individual must have good writing skills
  • Analytic Skills
  • Problem-solving skills: The individual must be able to identify challenges and develop strategies and solutions to overcome them. For example, you may help a client develop a plan to increase their sales or find ways to reduce their production costs and to access capital and investors.
  • Advanced skills in using Microsoft applications
  • Time management:  He or She will take meetings, conference calls and other appointments with clients, private and public partners so it’s important to be able to manage their time well
  • Financial knowledge: The individual must have financial knowledge to provide their clients with the best advice to help them make informed decisions about their business. For example, on capitalisation.
  • Networking: Should be able to build relationships and trust with clients and colleagues through networking as well as find new clients, partners and to learn about industry trends.
  • Coordination and planning skills: He or she must be able to coordinate the work of associates and analysts to ensure deadlines are met. He or she will be required to give regular updates to management of clients, partners of firms and shareholders across board.
  • IT: The individual must have a good understanding of IT and business related systems.



Educational Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, business administration, management, finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated analytical background
  • On the job experience in business and finance working with senior-level decision-makers.
  • An understanding of regulatory and reporting requirements as well as plenty of experience.
  • Excellent knowledge and expertise in industries
  • Knowledge of end-to end systems.
  • He or She must understand information flows and systems.


The individual must have at least 5 years of working experience in business advisory and business management
