Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities
- To develop architectural designs based on the client’s requirements.
- Discuss the ideas, objectives, requirements and budget of a project and in some cases help to select a site.
- Collaborate with other professionals involved in the design project.
- Discuss the design proposal with the CAD technician and supervise to ensure that the detail drawings produced reflect the architect’s design.
- Produce detailed workings, drawings and specifications.
- Prepare preliminary specification of materials for the design.
- Keep within financial budgets and deadlines.
- Carry out regular site visits to check on progress and ensure that the project is running on time and to budget when required.
- Design solutions must enrich the way our clients live, work and play through innovation and thoughtfulness.
Qualification and Experience
- A minimum of first Degree in Architecture from any recognized tertiary institution
- Must have a relevant industry skill-based certification(s)
- A minimum of 2 Years post bachelor relevant work experience
- Good design and drawing skills to demonstrate your flair for architecture
- A strong imagination and the ability to think and create in three dimensions
- Sound analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- A keen interest in buildings and the built environment - an insight into Building Information Modelling (BIM) will also be a significant advantage
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals
- Good organizational and negotiation skills
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills
- An understanding about the relationship between people, buildings and the wider environment
- A first-rate understanding of construction processes
- Commercial awareness and business acumen
- Reasonable mathematical skills
- Project management skills
- Excellent IT skills, including computer-aided design skills.
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent design and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-moving environment
- Experience and high level knowledge of Autodesk packages (including Revit,AutoCAD,3ds max and Adobe suits
