Sales and Marketing Executive: Software and General IT Products and Solutions (Associate Level)

Job Description

Role includes identifying prospects, marketing our products to them and helping sell and close deals. Successful candidates shall be expected to contribute to the growth of the business in diverse ways including prospecting for new customers while creating and maintaining relationships with new/existing clients. Prospects will primarily be Ghana-based, but successful candidates may be expected to look out for potential business in key countries in the West African sub-region.


•             Coordinating internal sales and marketing activities and cultivating the company’s culture

•             Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options

•             Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions

•             Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities for up-selling, cross-selling, expansion, renewal, etc; recommending profit and service improvements

•             Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, developing self and participating in professional societies and events

•             Overseeing and developing marketing campaigns,organizing events and product exhibitions to promote a product or service throughout its lifespan

•             Compiling and distributing statistical information while monitoring and reporting on performance

•             Writing and proofreading creative copy and contributing content to the development of websites, social media pages and other public-facing platforms

•             Using a combination of digital and online tools as well as traditional media in the discharge of duties

•             Updating databases, using customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools

•             Work with colleagues in other units and departments in the discharge of duties

•             Support all applicable internal business units, including the HR and Admin, Technology, Commercial and Finance Departments, in the delivery of required service level objectives

•             Perform other related tasks as may be assigned to him/her from time to time

•             Reports to the Commercial Manager



•             2 years of learning and practicing sales and marketing activities in a reputable organisation

•             Experience working in a technology company (IT, Telecommunications, other) an added advantage

•             Must understand IT solutions, products and related terminology as applied to a typical technology-based company  i.e. hardware, software, IT infrastructure, cloud services, service delivery and SLA, pre- and post-sales activities, account management, etc

•             Must possess good numerical and IT skills – must be able to use spreadsheets, word processing, presentation, other productivity, messaging and collaboration tools

•             Good teamwork, excellent work ethic and strong organizational skills,

•             Rudimentary sales and marketing planning knowledge with great adaptability

•             Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills with strong attention to detail

•             Top-notch client relationship skills, high energy level, creative negotiating ability and solid prospecting skills

•             Must be highly analytical, innovative and have motivation for sales and marketing activities

•             Entrepreneurial and commercial awareness

•             Must be a self-starter and be able to act with minimal direction

•             Ability to successfully build working relationships with internal and external customers

•             Must be confident and have a willingness to learn and acquire new and relevant knowledge

•             Willingness to travel, when the need arises, in the pursuit of duties

•             Honest and sincere while calmly confident and convincing in interactions
