Job Title: Relationship Officer

Job Location: Accra, Greater Accra

Job Summary

  • To assist in planning, managing and direct business focus in the Retail sector through creating and maintaining a good clientele base and contributing towards achievement of goals set for growth of the organization and revenue generation and to increase the company’s market share in the industry

Job Description

  • Marketing and prospecting for clients
  • Appraise customers’ credit applications in assigned portfolio and make the appropriate recommendations to members of the Credit Committee
  • Conduct due diligence on credit applications and clients together with the Relationship manager
  • Assist relationship manager to build and expand the portfolio of existing clients through effective relationship management techniques
  • Assist in recovering debts that are overdue in the portfolio and ensuring that loans granted are repaid on time
  • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly reports to Head of department and members of the Credit Committee
  • Ensure all pre-disbursement and post disbursement conditions of facilities are adhered to
  • Ensure credit files in portfolio are kept up to date
  • Ensure all security documents are well executed and placed in safe custody

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Mentoring less experienced employees
  • Monitor and evaluate internal processes and suggest ways of improvement
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships
  • Lead internal teams/task forces

Qualification and Requirements

  • First Degree in Business Studies, Social Science or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in a financial institution (preferably a bank) with the Credit Department
  • Proven Credit risk assessment
  • Proven recovery skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be proactive and a self-starter
  • Meticulous and thorough
