Job Title: Promotion of Rule of Law and Judiciary in Africa Programme-Advisor


Job Location: Accra, Greater Accra


Job Description

  • Advice to partner institutions regarding reform processes
  • Regular reporting about developments in the judicial and administrative sector in Ghana
  • Furthering action fields “Legal Identity”, “Enhancing access to justice and legal framework for entrepreneurs”, and “Judicial integrity”
  • Potentially establishing the “Rule of Law Dialogue” and implement all relevant activities
  • Coordination of trainings for various target groups
  • Support to monitoring and reporting


Tasks


Partner relations

  • Acts as a focal point for partner institutions and develops a regular working mechanism


Coordinating and monitoring

  • Responsible for planning, conducting and monitoring of project activities in line with the objectives of the project


Research

  • Prepares and carries out qualitative research projects, such as research on specific points of law and regulatory matters; collecting and analyzing data


Knowledge management

  • Draws up reports and translations
  • Assists in communicating, updating and collecting information
  • Organizes and updates component documentation, the filing systems and the component library


General obligations

  • Familiar with GIZ planning, implementation and reporting procedures and their changes
  • Carries out important tasks for the project, even if these are not explicitly cited in the job description


Other duties/additional tasks

  • Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management


Qualification and Requirements

  • Minimum of Master in Law, Political Science or International Relations
  • At least 5 years of professional experiences with or in government institutions or development cooperation organizations
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Knowledge of English language; Other language skills-specifically German and French are an asset
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and networking skills
  • Knowledge on Gender mainstreaming is an asset
  • Knowledge on organizing international conferences and/or workshops considered an asset
