Job Summary

To provide financial advice and services to the company and its private and corporate clients about a range of investment matters, including buying and selling investment trusts and shares or bonds, to help them invest their money in the best places.

Job Description

  • Directing client investment activities for stocks, bonds, and securities within a particular fund.

  • Conducting analysis to determine which securities provide the greatest return on investment and mitigate client risk

  • Managing fund activities, deciding which securities to incorporate into the fund’s mix of products.

  • Providing investment and financial management advice to the company and its clients and also to other financial professionals.

  • Meeting with investors to determine investment goals or to discuss investment strategies

  • Recommending rebalancing a fund, for example, based on investment objectives and performance.

  • Advising the company and its clients on long-term strategies for financial management and explaining how a particular fund fits into their overall goals.

  • Monitoring on a daily basis the performance of the funds that you manage.

  • Conducting weekly meetings to assess fund performance and identifying shortcomings, developing strategies to offset losses, and drive profitability as well as taking corrective actions to improve fund performance.

  • Completing financial transactions on behalf of the company and other clients and the funds you manage.  This may involve buying and selling stocks, bonds, and securities, but can also include complex transactions to drive profitability or reduce risk.

  • Ensuring that investment activities adhere to financial industry regulations, conducting audits to prevent fraud and ensure that you are not putting the company and other clients’ investments at risk unnecessarily.

  • Monitoring regulatory or tax law changes to ensure fund compliance or to capitalize on development opportunities.

  • Submitting documents and reports to oversight bodies or appearing before regulators to explain decisions you make regarding fund management.

  • Attending investment briefings or consulting financial media to stay abreast of relevant investment markets.

  • Performing or evaluating research, such as detailed company or industry analyses, to inform financial forecasting, decision making or valuation.

Qualification and Requirements

  • Minimum First Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting or Economics 

  • An MBA or MSC in the fields above or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification would be an added advantage

  • Work Experience: 5 Years Minimum in working with an excellent Fund Management firm as a Fund Manager 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required


  • Be an investment expert to oversee client investment and financial activity through active investment and securities management.

  • You should possess a high level of knowledge about different securities and financial products and know how they support investor goals.

  • Possess strong client service skills to enable you to work closely with clients to understand their goals and make financial decisions that support both long and short-term investment objectives.

  • Possess a thorough understanding of financial laws and procedures in order to protect client investments and ensure that they are making legal and sound decisions.

  • Be an excellent relationship-builder and feel comfortable with networking to stay informed about industry trends.

  • You should possess excellent documentation skills to prepare financial documents such as disclosures and reports as well as the ability to craft and edit these documents while ensuring accuracy.

  • You should possess excellent communication skills to help in written and verbal communication since they are both essential in this position when communicating directly with clients and other financial services professionals

  • You should possess the ability to judge and make decisions    

  • Must have keen interest and understanding of financial markets.                                                     

  • You must be able to take initiatives and think very fast.                                                                                                  

  • You should be able to exhibit professionalism and confidentiality in all situations                                                                    

  • Ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy                                                                           

  • You must be flexible
