Job Title: Assistant Logistics Manager

Job Description

Warehouse Management

  • Consolidate daily stock movement reports, reconcile and submit a daily report on it highlighting areas of urgent attention
  • Analyse stock movement and forecast for stock based on past trends and expected consumption
  • Prioritize, coordinate and ensure order fulfillment to various warehouses after stock replenishment request is made
  • Reconcile goods delivered from port and the central warehouse to the various warehouses and report on same, noting any discrepancies or overages there may be together with the Warehouse Officer
  • Reconcile goods that move from warehouses to customer and ensure proper documentation and procedures are followed
  • Visit warehouse regularly, review and report on compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Import/Export Coordination

  • Liaise with Operations & Logistics Manager to prepare and roll out daily and periodic operational plans for effective shipping processes
  • Establish relationships with freight companies to improve freight delivery performance
  • Liaise with clearing agents in preparing documents required to clear goods for import or export
  • Monitor technical and regulatory changes in the logistics environment and advise line manager for decision-making and policy direction
  • Assist with the coordination of the Company’s supply chain to ensure stakeholders including suppliers, finance department, sales team, shipping companies and transporters adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Fleet Management

  • Keep a data of all Drivers and their licenses and monitor to ensure that drivers’ licenses are valid at all times
  • Oversee the scheduling of Drivers and vehicles to timely meet the daily transport requirements of the company
  • Coordinate Driver training and refresher programs
  • Ensure that Drivers comply with company's vehicles inspections and maintenance requirements in line with company's fleet management policy
  • Coordinate planned maintenance for Company fleet


  • Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reports required are submitted per schedule

Qualification and Requirements

  • Minimum of First degree or its equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement or an Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Transport
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • At least 6 years’ relevant experience with at least 2 years at a supervisory level
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of inventory and fleet management
  • Knowledge of Tally Accounting software
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong ability to multitask and work in a collaborative manner
  • Very attentive to accuracy and detail
  • High sense of accountability and dependability
  • Result oriented and a quality focused disposition
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good appreciation and working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
