A Reputable Company seeks the services of an Accounts Clerk

Job Title: Accounts Clerk

Job Location: Accra, Greater Accra

Job Description

  • Implement approved Financial Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work plans in managing the Financial and Management Accounting functions
  • Vet payment vouchers, etc. and process through the General Ledger for approval/payment
  • Prepare cheques and process for approval and payment in line with approved guidelines
  • Reconcile General Ledger for review by Superior Officer
  • Process for payment employees’ benefits entitlements in line with approved conditions of service
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements
  • Maintain Accounts Receivables and process invoices for payments
  • Prepare SSNIT and PAYE returns for payment to statutory institutions
  • Vet Petty Cash for review and approval
  • Maintain and update records of all accounting transactions
  • Provide support in annual audit activities
  • Gather data/information for the preparation of financial reports (i.e. Income Statements, Balance Sheet, etc.) and prepare any other report relating to job function
  • Perform any other duty(s) assigned by Supervisor

Qualification and Requirements

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Accountancy 
  • At least three (3) year’s working experience or equivalent professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Knowledge and understanding in the use of accounting and auditing methodologies and tools
  • Knowledge/understanding of tax laws and related regulations
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with all categories of employees
  • Ability to meet deadlines and execute projects
  • Attention to details
  • Good analytical skills
  • Absolute confidentiality in handling/dealing with confidential information/data
  • Knowledge of accounting software/tools, Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet and PowerPoint
