Job Title: Account Manager

Job Location: Accra(Nungua), Greater Accra

Job Description

  • Update books of accounts – entering of expenses for various ledgers
  • Ensure filing of VAT, IRS (PAYE) monthly and timely
  • Updating Sage Accounting System with all payment received and Prompt invoicing of customers using the Sage accounting system
  • Follow up on overdue accounts by, monitoring customer invoices and initiating collection process by way of informing the Sales Team of overdue invoices
  • Ensure that customer statements are issued at the end of every month and coordinate month end customer accounts reconciliation.
  • Preparing deposit slips and making bank deposits where necessary
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions
  • Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Supports budget and forecasting activities 
  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
  • Responds to inquiries from the Director of Finance, Controller, and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like
  • Work with the Financial Controller( Where available) to ensure a clean and timely year end audit
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
  • Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • Adhere to all corporate strategies, policies and standards in the performance of this job and all other activities for/on behalf of the company.
  • Other special projects that management might assigned to you from time to time

Qualification and Requirements

  • A minimum of Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • At least 5 years working experience
  • ACCA Part 1 and 2 is required
