Job Description

Technical Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the company management team and Subsea Technical Authority for supporting clients with the operation and integrity management of their subsea infrastructure and pipelines. This comprises the generation and update of management systems,  inspection, maintenance and testing (IMR) schemes, engineering assessments, anomaly management, repair work and vessel planning, annual reporting, and periodic auditing
  • Involved in maintaining risk based inspection and testing programmes to international standards and industry best practices
  • Focal point for supporting clients with preparation and organization of subsea equipment related surveys, both pipelines and structures, and subsequent reporting and engineering assessment for safe, continued operations. Management of quality assurance and other essential record keeping
  • Contribution to integrity management review sessions and improvements together with annual reporting
  • Identification and implementation of effective integrity management techniques to improve client efficiency and reduce cost and plant downtime. Ensure integrity activities are implemented to plan and budget

General Responsibilities

  • This role will, at times, involve dealing directly with our clients. It is essential that client relationships are maintained and developed to help achieve all company and client objectives

Due to the nature of our work there will be excellent exposure to a number of challenges including:

  • Supporting Technical Authorities in engineering and technical studies
  • Challenging IMR field activity support
  • Development of high level integrity management documentation
  • Formal Root cause analysis and fault finding
  • Direct assistance to site personnel
  • Identification and promotion of CFG for additional workscopes within the Company’s capabilities
  • The primary work location at is the Codex Fortress Office (Accra),  it is expected that regular visits, including seconded periods, will be required at client offices in Ghana.  Periodic overseas travel to Company JV company locations may also be necessary
  • Where the individual shows significant promise there will be opportunities to attain key roles where it will be necessary to manage client relationships and potential workscopes, understand and implement contractual requirements, initiate client feedback sessions and facilitate monthly/annual integrity management meetings
  • The Firm is a small but successful and expanding organisation this role has the potential to develop into a senior management position. On this basis it will be actively encouraged for the individual to correspond with potential business contacts and engage actively in business development to promote the company, explain our services and help develop relationships to support our target of increased share whilst maintaining a continued “high quality deliverables on-time, every time” ethos
  • Formal training and development will be actively encouraged together with relevant on-the-job training

Promotion of CFG within the industry is expected, including:

  • Identifying gaps in the industry by researching industry and related events, publications and announcements; tracking individual contributors to the industry and their accomplishments
  • Identify potential business opportunities by contacting new clients or existing contacts; discovering and exploring opportunities
  • Drive and cultivate existing client relationships by finding way in which to improve and expand our services
  • Screen potential business opportunities by analyzing market strategies, requirements, potential, and evaluating options and resolving internal priorities
  • Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new ventures with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals
  • Protect CFG values by keeping information confidential
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional events
  • Enhances the Company reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring business opportunities and add value to job role and Company

Additionally this role requires training and mentoring of junior and entry level engineers in order to build capacity across the organisation. This will include:

  • Creating training material and updating it where necessary
  • Leading, and where necessary, facilitating training sessions
  • Mentoring junior engineers and ensuring an understanding of CFG policies and procedures
  • And any other tasks assigned


Qualification and Requirements

  • A minimum of a degree is required
  • At least 3-5 years work experience
