A Reputable NGO seeks the services of a Baking Instructor


Job Title: Baking Instructor


Job Location: Tamale, Northern Region


Job Description

  • Develop a detailed baking and pastry lessons curriculum to achieve the objectives of Create Change Ghana (CCG)  
  • Prepare daily lesson plans for Baking & Pastry Arts courses, including but not limited to lectures, demonstrations and lab activities 
  • Teach students both theory and practical bakery and pastry lessons
  • Ensure all proper food safety measures are forefront in lesson plans
  • Design and implement instructional activities that are appropriate and meaningful 
  • Maintain all required records including attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc
  • Check equipment to ensure that it meets health and safety regulations and perform maintenance or cleaning, as necessary
  • Develop supply lists and quantities necessary to carry out practical lessons within set budgets 
  • Monitor equipment operation and ensure girls are trained to  ensure proper functioning
  • Manage all baking supplies, checking products for quality and identify damaged or expired goods
  • Keep track of baking supply inventory
  • Implement required student learning outcomes assessment
  • Evaluate quality of food ingredients or prepared foods
  • Organize tutoring session as required for students who need additional assistance


Qualification and Requirements

  • A minimum of diploma and or any relevant certificate in  bakery and pastry arts and or food and nutrition with at least one year experience in a related field
  • A successful track record in delivering learning and practical demonstration is preferable, with expertise in leadership, management and culinary programmes is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge in food safety
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in relationship to both colleagues and students, customers and partners
  • Good organizational,  administration and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication, instructional, and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills such as word processing and report writing
  • Experience monitoring colleagues and trainees
  • Keep to work as an integral part of a small organization whilst managing  individual workload  to achieve results
  • Strong budgeting skills and with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • An understanding of, and commitment to quality of opportunity and diversity
  • Understanding of and commitment to the values of social enterprise
